Volunteers working to bring a lifeboat back to its former glory are appealing for more information about its crew. To mark the restoration of the
the North East Maritime Trust has begun a project to find out more about the brave men who served on board the vessel, which launched 32 times and saved eight lives.
Stationed in Tynemouth between 1918-39 and 1941- 47, it is known that five coxswains and 67 men formed the crew of the motor boat – many living in Cullercoats, Tynemouth and North Shields.
