Going out on a limb
say, a very valuable resource for family historians. Can you please explain to me the picture that you have on page 62 of the June issue of the magazine, which introduces the article ‘Taking the Pledge’ (see above)? The seated lady in the forefront of the picture appears to have three arms and three hands – can you clarify what is going on?
I love the magazine and am a regular subscriber but no matter how many times I look at the picture, I feel maybe I should be taking the pledge, too! Caroline Wood, by email Editor replies: Many thanks for your email – it really made us giggle here in the office! The third arm and leg belongs, of course, to the lady sitting behind. A good spot though. very interesting information. This is an excellent book for anybody doing Scottish name searches. I would just like to say once again that your magazine is an excellent read for family tree enthusiasts like me. John Walker, by email
