BULLS IN WORKSHOP
Shortly before eight o’clock last night, while some cattle were being driven through the streets, two bulls broke away and ran down Upper Merrion Street.
Passing up a flight of stairs, they entered the workshop of Mr Marks, tailor, where a number of men and girls were at work. Not without difficulty, one of the intruders was moved to the top of the staircase, and was then pushed down. At the bottom, it got jammed so tight that it could not move. A rope was supplied and fastened to the horns of the animal, and it was ultimately set free.
Meanwhile, the second bull, which had been kept back, was led to the staircase, but as it would not venture down, a rope was attached to its horn. It also got jammed, but like its companion, was released and able to walk away. Fortunately, no one was injured.
