Pioneering railway atlas republished
The painstaking work of the oldest person ever to receive a PhD from Cambridge University has been republished as a new two-volume edition. The Railways of Great Britain: A Historical Atlas was compiled by the late Colonel Michael Cobb, who undertook the research for his doctorate – awarded to him in 2008 at the age of 91. Comprising over 640 pages of maps, the atlas plots every railway line in Britain, both past and present. For details, see railwaysofgreatbritain.com.
