The­Ge­neal­o­gist to roll out up­dates

Fam­ily his­tory sub­scrip­tion web­site the­ge­neal­o­ has an­nounced that it will be rolling out sev­eral ma­jor up­dates in 2016.

The site, which first hit the web in 2002, will be launch­ing a “range of in­ter­face im­prove­ments” and redigi­tis­ing sev­eral key record sets, in­clud­ing its col­lec­tion of UK census re­turns.

This means that cus­tomers will be able to ac­cess record scans at a higher res­o­lu­tion than be­fore, with the abil­ity to al­ter the con­trast, bright­ness, ro­ta­tion and in­ver­sion of the im­ages.

The en­hance­ments will also co­in­cide with sev­eral new record re­leases for the New Year, in­clud­ing parish records, elec­toral reg­is­ters and tithe maps.

In ad­di­tion to the main web­site changes, The­Ge­neal­o­gist is also set to re­lease a new ver­sion of its TreeView soft­ware for Mac, PC and tablet devices.

Fully com­pat­i­ble with GEDCOM files, the pro­gram en­ables users to man­age and view fam­ily tree in­for­ma­tion in a va­ri­ety of for­mats, in­clud­ing a multi-gen­er­a­tional chart, hour­glass chart and fan chart.

The up­dated ver­sion of TreeView will of­fer ad­vanced map­ping ca­pa­bil­i­ties
