TheGenealogist to roll out updates
Family history subscription website thegenealogist.co.uk has announced that it will be rolling out several major updates in 2016.
The site, which first hit the web in 2002, will be launching a “range of interface improvements” and redigitising several key record sets, including its collection of UK census returns.
This means that customers will be able to access record scans at a higher resolution than before, with the ability to alter the contrast, brightness, rotation and inversion of the images.
The enhancements will also coincide with several new record releases for the New Year, including parish records, electoral registers and tithe maps.
In addition to the main website changes, TheGenealogist is also set to release a new version of its TreeView software for Mac, PC and tablet devices.
Fully compatible with GEDCOM files, the program enables users to manage and view family tree information in a variety of formats, including a multi-generational chart, hourglass chart and fan chart.
The updated version of TreeView will offer advanced mapping capabilities
