Rare WW1 hospital archive preserved
A unique collection of Scottish hospital records are to be formally catalogued. Staff from Glasgow University Archive Services have begun sorting and preserving hundreds of documents relating to the history of Erskine Hospital, which were recently discovered hidden inside a locked room. Originally known as the Princess Louise Scottish Hospital for Limbless Sailors and Soldiers, the hospital pioneered the use of prosthetics for wounded troops during the First World War.
