Cou­ple dis­cover Nazi census in home

A cache of Nazi doc­u­ments has been dis­cov­ered at an apart­ment in Hun­gary. The haul, which in­cludes more than 6,300 pa­pers, was found stuffed into a wall cav­ity while Bu­dapest cou­ple Ga­bor and Brigitte Berdefy were un­der­tak­ing re­pairs to their home. The doc­u­ments were iden­ti­fied as form­ing part of the 1944 Bu­dapest census, which was used by the Nazis to plan the re­moval of the city’s Jewish pop­u­la­tion. Read more at
