Robert the Bruce de­stroys Aberdeen Cas­tle. A pass­word used by the king – 'Bon Ac­cord' – is later in­cor­po­rated into the city‘s coat of arms.

The city is burned to the ground by the English King Ed­ward III, as part of a failed cam­paign to in­stall Ed­ward Bal­liol as king.

King's Col­lege is es­tab­lished by Wil­liam Elphinstone, Bishop of Aberdeen, on be­half of King James IV, in or­der to ed­u­cate lo­cal parish­ioners.

The Bat­tle of Aberdeen is fought on 12 Septem­ber at Two Mile Cross be­tween Roy­al­ists and Covenan­ters. The city is later ran­sacked by the suc­cess­ful Roy­al­ists.
