The 1939 Reg­is­ter is a great cen­sus sub­sti­tute for post1911 re­search, and sub­scribers to Ances­try, Find­my­past and My­Her­itage now have ac­cess. But if you have been un­able to find rel­a­tives on Find­my­past or My­Her­itage, it’s worth check­ing Ances­try (and vice versa) – Ances­try uses a dif­fer­ent tran­scrip­tion, and the de­tails you want may have been tran­scribed dif­fer­ently.
