Professional storyteller brings tales to church
A BROADCASTER and columnist will appear at a special evening in aid of a church spire appeal.
Bel Mooney has had a long career in writing and broadcasting and is a columnist for the Daily Mail newspaper.
She will take part in An Evening with Bel Mooney and Ernie Rea at St Philip and St James Church in Alderley Edge.
Ernie Rea lives in the village with wife Gaynor and they have both worked with Bel as journalists.
The event will raise money for the appeal to raise £150,000 to carry out repairs to the church spire.
Gaynor Rea said: “I’ve know Bel for years and she has some wonderful stories.
“It’s great she can come to the church to help with the appeal.
“The community has pulled together for the spire appeal but we still have some way to go.”
The event on Friday, March 6 will see Bel interviewing Ernie about his life and then Ernie will interview Bel.
Bel will take questions and sign copies of her books. The event starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £15 and include Prosecco and canapes, available from Travel by Design or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
