Pro­fes­sional sto­ry­teller brings tales to church

A BROAD­CASTER and colum­nist will ap­pear at a spe­cial evening in aid of a church spire ap­peal.

Bel Mooney has had a long ca­reer in writ­ing and broad­cast­ing and is a colum­nist for the Daily Mail news­pa­per.

She will take part in An Evening with Bel Mooney and Ernie Rea at St Philip and St James Church in Alder­ley Edge.

Ernie Rea lives in the vil­lage with wife Gaynor and they have both worked with Bel as jour­nal­ists.

The event will raise money for the ap­peal to raise £150,000 to carry out re­pairs to the church spire.

Gaynor Rea said: “I’ve know Bel for years and she has some won­der­ful sto­ries.

“It’s great she can come to the church to help with the ap­peal.

“The com­mu­nity has pulled to­gether for the spire ap­peal but we still have some way to go.”

The event on Fri­day, March 6 will see Bel in­ter­view­ing Ernie about his life and then Ernie will in­ter­view Bel.

Bel will take ques­tions and sign copies of her books. The event starts at 7.30pm.
