Incredible work ethic of farm hands

Wilmslow Express - - BARLOW’S BRIEF -

I VISITED a farm recently and the yard, constantly used by farm vehicles was immaculate. It’s not something you expect to see in the middle of winter.

“It’s the boys,” said the owner explaining it was the work of his two Polish farm hands.

“They have an incredible work ethic and won’t leave until everything is hosed down and put away.”

I’d heard the same kind of story from hoteliers, retailers and builders.

The reputation of Polish immigrants since their integration into the EU in 2004 has risen remarkably.

No one is claiming all Polish workers are the .same but the overwhelming impression is that of a hard working, respectful people. Consequently they are much in demand.
