Continued from back
David, pictured left, who has now completed his first year since joining the school in January 2014, was the deputy head of a Cheshire school before taking a headship at a leading preparatory school in Yorkshire, where he was in office for five years.
Now back in Cheshire, he has renewed his contacts with nearby Wilmslow Rugby Club and Sale Sharks and this has given pupils an amazing start in learning the game.
Over the first year the Carrwood Road school’s results have been beyond his expectations.
David recalls the first tournament in which teams were entered.
“We were playing against other schools who had been playing rugby for several years and yet we were able to compete,” he said.
“We won some matches and conducted ourselves admirably in the way that only rugby requires you to do in the face of such physicality.
“We were also the best kitted-out squads and we are very grateful to Savills for their generous sponsorship in providing our team kit.”
