Stunner Sophie wins national title
AN out of this world beauty from Wilmslow beat 70 hopefuls to become Miss Galaxy England.
Sophie Tozer, a 28-yearold celebrity make-up artist from Wilmslow, will now travel to Orlando, Florida this summer as part of Team Galaxy UK to compete in the Galaxy International competition.
But Sophie says it isn’t just a chance to drop in on Mickey Mouse at Disney World, but an opportunity to inspire others.
After her win she said she is now ready to challenge people’s preconceptions of pageant girls.
She said: “Like most people I felt there was a stereotype associated with pageants – and I don’t fit into that stereotype.
“I’m 28. I want to inspire women by making them realise you don’t have to be 19 or 20 to win a national title.”
The self-proclaimed ‘strong Yorkshire woman living in Cheshire’, who took the national title as Miss Wilmslow Galaxy, has spent the last decade building her own business.
Her work as a make-up artist has featured in OK! and Closer magazines, as well as on ITV’s recent show The Real Housewives of Cheshire.
And she’s making a name for herself on the other side of the camera too, taking to the catwalk at Manchester Fashion Week and appearing in a TV ad for Imperial Leather.
Sophie added: “Coming from a model industry background you see insecurities everywhere, but I’ve learned to be comfortable in my own skin.
“For me it’s about being a positive role model and creating awareness to certain causes.
“It’s about working with charities important to me.
“I’ve lost all my grandparents to heart disease and want to raise awareness for the British Heart Foundation.
“I would love to do reality TV to prove that not all pageant girls fit the stereotype.
“My dream job would be as a full-time presenter or an actress in a drama.”
