Wilmslow Express - - LAUGHING BADGER -

APRIL marks a significant landmark for Thorneycroft Solicitors managing director Rachel Stow as it will be 20 years since she joined the firm as a newly qualified solicitor.

Back in 1994 the firm employed just eight people, but it has grown to be one of the largest employers in Macclesfield, employing in excess of 170 people across its group of businesses.

In addition to being one of the largest personal injury firms in the UK, Thorneycroft also has a significant private client department which handles conveyancing, wills and probate, family law, lasting powers of attorney as well as employment matters for individuals and companies.

Having established herself as a wellrespected personal injury solicitor, Rachel was appointed a partner in 1997 before becoming managing director in 2003 when the firm became a limited company.

Founding director Robert Thorneycroft was responsible for recruiting Rachel initially and then appointing her to the role of MD.

Robert commented: “Over the last two decades Rachel has been instrumental in helping to shape the business into one that has evolved into a well-respected and thriving practice. She is well respected by her team, clients and our business partners.”

Rachel has established working partnerships with a wide range of companies and organisations within the PI sector and is especially proud of the work that she does with organisations such as BIRT (Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust).

She explains: “As a firm we represent many individuals who have suffered serious brain injuries as a result of accidents.

“It is important that these individuals receive practical support and advice, as well as financial compensation. This is extremely rewarding work but also very humbling.”

Looking into the future, Rachel believes that Thorneycroft are well placed to build on their position as a leading provider of high quality legal services to both their local and national based clients.

She commented: “Thorneycroft Solicitors pride themselves on building long term relationships with clients and their families. Whatever stage of their life they are at, be it buying their first home, making a personal injury claim or requiring the preparation of a will, we will be there to support and advise them on the correct course of action.” To find out how Thorneycroft Solicitors can help you, please contact them on 01625 503444.
