Time running our to enter Trafford Business Awards

Wilmslow Express - - NEWS -

THE deadline is fast approaching for the Trafford Business Awards.

The awards, organised in association with Metronet (UK), have a deadline of Friday May 1. The awards are a great opportunity for your business to celebrate success, thank workers for their hard work and be recognised by region’s business community. There are 11 awards in total, which include the Community Award, Green Business Award and International Business of the Year. An Innovation and Enterprise Award is up for grabs, along with Employer of the Year and Young Business Person of the Year. Gongs including the Business Person of the Year and Trafford College Apprenticeship Award will also be handed out on the night. Big prizes on the night are the Business Start Up Award, Business of the Year (up to 50 employees) and Metronet Business of the Year (over 50 employees). This week, we look at two of the awards in greater detail.

This new award is open to all businesses in Trafford, regardless of size or sector, that can demonstrate their commitment to apprenticeships and the benefits that the apprenticeship scheme have brought to the business and/or the apprentices. Please note this category relates to the government funded and regulated Apprenticeship scheme, delivered by contracted and approved training providers.

This award celebrates excellence in green practice, strategy and prod- ucts. Has your business applied environmental policies in the workplace? Do your products or services make a positive contribution to the environ- ment? Have you reduced your carbon footprint? This category recognises a local business that shows evidence of a green ethos which has a commercial return for the business.
