Best-seller is back

Wilmslow Express - - NEWS - Paul Britton

AN acclaimed author is celebrating the 10th anniversary of his unique motivational book.

Paul McGee, from Sale, is an international speaker and performance coach with a simple message - shut up, move on.

That is the title of his international best-seller S.U.M.O., which has sold more than 60,000 copies in the UK alone and is now being re-released 10 years on. Paul, 50, tours the world giving presentations and has addressed private and public sector industries, schools and councils across Greater Manchester

He has worked with Greater Manchester Police and also works in the player care and support department at Manchester City, offering one-toone help to star footballers as a player and staff performance coach.

Paul, a psychology graduate and former pupil at Sale Boys’ Grammar School, said: “The book is just very down to earth, as Mancunians are. We are not pretentious but practical. It’s aimed at anybody who thinks, ‘I have had a few challenges in life and I want to improve’. It can be for chief executives to teenagers.”

The book, published in 2005, stemmed from a difficult period in Paul’s life. He lost his job in the 1980s and developed an interest in personal development.

He said: “It knocked Alan Sugar off top spot and became a best-seller in the UK, Australia and Singapore.”
