Where now for My generation?

Wilmslow Express - - NEWS -

I AM the founder member of My Generation, a social group formed in 2010.

We aim our club nights at the over 50s, and to people who used to frequent Manchester clubs in the 60s i.e. The Twisted Wheel, Oasis and The Three Coins etc. Until recently we held our event at the Roadhouse on Newton Street.

Due to this venue closing later this year, this will now stop, until we can find another venue.

We are totally selffinancing, and I am appealing to anyone who has premises in the city centre, either a bar/club who would let us use that venue three to four times a year free of charge to hold future events.

We had a very successful evening last Sunday with an attendance of almost 100.

We find a lot of people who don’t get out much, because they are over a certain age, alone, and lack the confidence to take the first step to see what’s out there.

There’s nothing like a club atmosphere.

We are not a singles club; we have plenty of couples, groups from the Greater Manchester area who come to our club nights and go home happy after a night of good music and dancing.

If you think you can help we can be contacted on our Facebook page at My Generation mcr or email joycegill9@hotmail.com
