Shoddy tram service
METROLINK has failed again. On Sunday, April 19, I wanted to travel from Stretford to Newton Heath. I boarded a tram at Stretford knowing I would have to change to a Rochdale-bound tram.
So, I got off at Trafford Bar. It was then that I realised no trams were going to Newton Heath from that stop. I got on the next Piccadilly tram and, as instructed by the tannoy, alighted at St Peter’s Square for a replacement bus to Victoria. There were no buses, no signage and no Metrolink staff to be found. I spoke to someone at customer service and they informed me the replacement buses were running from Piccadilly. Same thing there. No buses, signage or staff to inform. So I had to walk to Victoria. There is barely a weekend when I can get a tram from A to B. John Rangry Manchester
