The grass is greener at Beltane BC

-

Beltane Bowling Club have purchased a top of the range mower to improve their greens ahead of the new season.

Members were celebrating after purchasing the John Deere 220 SL Precision Cut which will make bowling more enjoyable for everyone at the Alexander Street club.

Match secretary David Logan said:“As a committee, we were realistic and realised we needed to invest considerably to bring the green up to standard and improve the pace dramatically to try to be one of the top greens around and improve the reputation for years to come.

“It is anticipated now after the ambition shown by our club in investing in the best mower we will be able to attract some much needed top players to compliment it.

“With the green transformed into one of the best in the district, we are ambitious and as such we are actively seeking new members this season.

“At a cost of £95 annually, we think it represents a bargain.

“There is one thing for sure, our green will improve and will be up there with the very best.”
