Shotts to Serbia
Springhill boxer Lynn Calder is heading to Serbia today (Wednesday) for the Belgrade Winners tournament.
The Shotts boxer is looking to continue her sparkling form with success at the multination tournament.
Lynn won gold at the Scottish Championships at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility by beating Natalia Josko from Renfrewshire.
The win was another big positive for Calder in her Gold Coast Commonwealth Games ambitions.
This week’s tournament in Serbia will showcase the best in European boxing and head coach Frank Delaney hopes Lynn can show her good form.
He said:“Lynn is heading across as part of the Scotland team but it will be a tough test. It’s a very hard tournament to win and there are boxers from all over Europe, with the Eastern European countries always strong.
“Lynn always does well at these tournaments and gives a great account of herself so hopefully she can carry on her good form lately.”
Lynn will be fighting at the lightweight elite category of 60kg.
