Houldsworth Bowl­ing Club The func­tion room will be closed on Satur­day, July 1, but the lounge will be open as nor­mal. The func­tion room will also be closed on Satur­day, July 8, but the lounge will be open on both dates. Dances for July will in­clude Dif­fer­ent Klass on July 15, Dougie and Peter on July 22, and Stu­art Carr on July 29 plus the usual bingo and trea­sure chest on all dates. South Wishaw Parish Church Mid­week ser­vice on Wed­nes­days at 12pm takes place in the church through­out the year. This is fol­lowed by a lunch club at 12.30pm from Septem­ber to June be­fore the start of the Wed­nes­day Wel­come at 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Th­ese ac­tiv­i­ties are open to all. Wed­nes­day Wel­come is a so­cial ac­tiv­ity which runs through­out the year. There is some­thing to please ev­ery­one with big-screen movies, bingo, seated keep-fit, en­ter­tain­ers, crafts and card mak­ing and much more. Wor­ship on Sun­day at 11am will be pre­ceded by a prayer break­fast start­ing at 9.15am. The wor­ship group will be hold­ing a Satur­day cafe­te­ria on Satur­day, be­tween 10am and 1pm. Wishaw Ex-servicemen’s Club En­ter­tain­ment be­gins with cash bingo in the Tar­tan lounge on Fri­day and Sun­day nights. This Satur­day, the main hall is closed for a private func­tion. Fu­ture events will see the fab­u­lous voice of singer Kirk James, who will be per­form­ing in the main hall on July 22, en­try costs £2 for mem­bers; and £3 for non mem­bers. An Ea­gles trib­ute band will per­form on Satur­day, Au­gust 26, and tick­ets cost £10 each. This is a ter­rific show not to be missed. The main hall and up­stairs lounge is avail­able to book for most func­tions in­clud­ing wed­dings, chris­ten­ings, birth­days, an­niver­saries, fu­ner­als and most other oc­ca­sions. Beltane Bowl­ing Club Next monthly dance at the club will be held in the club on Satur­day, July 1, with mu­sic for the evening pro­vided by the Johnny Weir Sound and a sing song in the hall on Sun­day at 8.30pm. Dalziel St An­drew’s Parish Church All are wel­come at all ages wor­ship ser­vice on Sun­day morn­ing at 11am when the Sun­day school and Fu­sion Bi­ble class) will con­clude their term. The ser­vice is avail­able via on­line live stream­ing ser­vice at dalziel­stan­drews.org.uk. Th­ese ser­vices also in­clude BSL sign­ing and elec­tronic note tak­ing to as­sist the deaf or hard of hear­ing. Al­though the nor­mal groups will con­clude, chil­dren are wel­come each week through­out the sum­mer months at the sum­mer Sun­day school and creche when, each week, a themed time of fun and games and snacks will be held. Each week the theme will be based on one of the I Am say­ings of Je­sus with the first one on July 2, be­ing I am the Bread of Life. An Amer­i­can brunch will be held in the church hall after wor­ship on Sun­day, July 2. The cost re­mains at £3 for adults and £1.50 for chil­dren. All wel­come. This year’s chil­dren’s hol­i­day club for pri­mary age pupils will run from Mon­day, June 24, un­til Fri­day, July 28, start­ing each day at 11am and in­cludes a snack meal. Plan­ning is now un­der­way for the an­nual con­fer­ence and AGM of the Scot­tish Churches Dis­abil­ity Group, which will be held this year in Dalziel St An­drew’s Church on Septem­ber
