Ap­peal after man robbed

De­tec­tives are ap­peal­ing for in­for­ma­tion after a man was as­saulted and robbed in Mother­well in the early hours of the morn­ing.

At around 4am on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 29, a 54- year- old man was as­saulted and robbed of his car on Merry Street near to Newcraig Road.

Emer­gency ser vices at­tended and the vic­tim was taken to Wishaw Gen­eral Hospi­tal be­fore be­ing trans­ferred to Hairmyres Hospi­tal for treat­ment to se­ri­ous fa­cial in­juries.

Med­i­cal staff de­scribe his con­di­tion as stable.

De­tec­tive Con­sta­ble Colin Sharp from Wishaw CID said: “En­quiries are at an early stage to es­tab­lish the full cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing this in­ci­dent and I would ap­peal to any­one who was in the area in the early hours of that morn­ing and may have wit­nessed what hap­pened, or no­ticed any­thing sus­pi­cious, to please come for­ward.”
