A Wishaw mum, who died suddenly of a brain haemorrhage, gave five people an early Christmas present after selflessly donating her organs.

Alison Kerr collapsed at her home on Hill Street after complaining of an excruciating headache whilst getting ready to go Christmas shopping.

Alison’s grieving daughter Cherise told the Wishaw Press:“My mum was so caring and always put everyone first. That’s why she signed up for organ donation.” Motherwell boss Mark McGhee became embroiled in a war of words with Celtic’s coaching staff following his side’s 4-3 defeat.

McGhee said:“We’d no problem with Brendan Rodgers but some of his staff weren’t Celtic quality in terms of their behaviour.”

John Higgins crashed out of the UK Championship following a last eight defeat to Mark Selby.

Higgins went 5-4 up but lost 6-5 to eventual winner Selby.
