Call-offs becoming a pain
David Wren Wishaw Juniors boss John Brogan admits constant call-offs in the Scottish Junior Cup are becoming frustrating.
The Central District side were supposed to head to Dundee Downfield on Saturday in the much-anticipated cup tie.
But the game was called off on Saturday morning ahead of the crunch game.
Brogan said:“It is a bit of a nuisance but you can’t do much about the weather.
“The boys had trained the two days and were looking sharp but unfortunately the game was put off and there’s not much you can do about that.”
The tie is scheduled for this coming Saturday as Wishaw look to progress in the competition.
But if the game falls foul to the weather once more, Brogan has a back-up plan to keep his players ticking over.
He added:“If it doesn’t go ahead this weekend we’ll try to get a friendly organised to keep the players ticking over.”
Shotts Bon Accord were supposed to take on Forfar West End but their game was also victim of the cold weather over the weekend.
Their tie will also be re-scheduled for this weekend as they too look to progress in the competition.
