Well boss: Bring this chapter to a close

Wishaw Press - - FRONT PAGE - David Wren

Stephen Robinson has refused to be drawn on Brendan Rodgers’scathing attack on Motherwell chief executive Alan Burrows.

The Fir Park boss previewed Saturday’s meeting with Hearts on Tuesday and insisted he wanted to move on from the clashes with Celtic.

After his side defeated Well 5-1 at Parkhead, Rodgers accused Burrows of lacking class.

The Celtic boss claimed Burrows had been showing the press footage of his side’s controversial penalty in the crunch match last Wednesday night on a laptop.

But this week Robinson moved to put the controversial meetings with the champions to bed.

He said: “We all know what Alan Burrows contributes to this football club.

“I’ve had enough of all the Celtic talk now and just want to focus on the football and this coming Saturday’s game.”

Robinson also revealed he’s in talks with three of his stars over new contracts at Fir Park but decided against naming the players. You can still buy tickets for the trip to Tynecastle. Go to www. motherwellfc.co.uk for info.
