Fined and banned as he admits guilt
A man has been fined and banned from driving following an incident in Newarthill.
John Broadfoot had originally denied all charges against him but changed his plea on the date of his trial.
At Hamilton Sheriff Court, 31-yearold Broadfoot admitted behaving in a threatening manner in Mosshall Street, Newarthill, on October 30, by acting aggressively towards two people and shouting, swearing and making threats of violence.
He also admitted failing to provide a specimen of blood for analysis at Motherwell Police Office on the same date to ascertain his ability to drive.
A charge that Broadfoot was driving a vehicle whilst he was unfit to drive through drink or drugs in Mosshall Street was dropped by prosecutors.
Sheriff Linda Nicolson fined Broadfoot, of Chapel Street, Cleland, a total of £360. He was also banned from driving for one year and 31 days.
