More than 100 players took to Wishaw Golf Course to raise £12,200 in memory of Natalie Hughes.

T h e Fu n ky Na t z Foundation Charity Trophy was contested to raise more cash for Epilepsy Scotland as part of a continuing drive by parents Eddie and Eileen Hughes, following the sudden death of their beloved daughter seven years ago.

Natalie’s uncle Iain Cairns, part of the organising committee, said: “The sun had his hat on at Wishaw Golf Club where we had 128 players vying for the coveted Funky Natz Crystal Jug.

“It was won by Mr Stephen Drummond and Mr Gerry Dobbin, who are both committee members.

“We raised on the day over £12,200 which takes the total raised for Epilepsy Scotland over the last seven years to just over £80,000.

“Obviously we would like to thank David Park, the professional at Wishaw Golf Club, The Caddyshack at Wishaw GC, KPP accountants, Watson Towers Ltd, Natgem Ltd, Halls Coaches, Epilepsy Scotland and of course Parks Motor Group for putting up the car for the hole in one competition.”

Prizes won in the raffle included two Beyoncé tickets, hospitality at Manchester United, a four ball at Gleneagles and many more fabulous prizes.

Iain added: “A great effort from everyone involved and all those who played and took part in the raffle.

“We could not do this without their incredible generosity.”
