A man has ad­mit­ted as­sault­ing a po­lice of­fi­cer and ag­gres­sive be­hav­iour to­wards a woman.

Ryan Todd was due to stand trial at Hamil­ton Sher­iff Court last week but changed his plea to guilty on three charges.

On July 11 at an ad­dress in Merry Street, Mother­well, Todd re­peat­edly shouted and swore at po­lice.

On the same day, he as­saulted a po­lice of­fi­cer in an at­tempt to strike him with his head. The fi­nal charge, the 35-year-old pleaded guilty oc­curred the fol­low­ing day at the same Merry Street ad­dress.

Todd acted in an ag­gres­sive man­ner to­wards a woman, shouted and swore at her, made abu­sive re­marks and re­peat­edly punched and kicked a door.

The ac­cused, of Hill­head Av­enue, Mother­well, was put on an 18-month com­mu­nity pay­back or­der with a su­per­vi­sion re­quire­ment.

Todd was also or­dered to carry out 100 hours of un­paid work and at­tend al­co­hol and ad­dic­tion coun­selling.
