Two St Aidan’s High gymnasts enjoyed success at recent competitions.

The Scottish Gymnastic championships took place on September 30 in Perth.

S3 pupil Ellie Burke took part in the competition and pleased the whole audience with her startling skills.

Head of the PE department and Ellie’s former pupil support teacher Mr Dunnery said: “Having known Ellie for a while I know she is really hard working and the PE department are very proud of her achievements”.

Emma Mcconville, in S5, represented Scotland at international level and brought home a fabulous silver medal from a competition in Budapest.

Emma is part of the Dynamic Gymnastics team that regularly meet in The Ravenscraig.

To make it all the way into the Scottish national team, Emma had to take part in a trials and gain enough points to make the cut for Scottishteam selection.

A school spokesperson said: “Gymnastics is Emma’s passion and she is certain that she will be pursuing this career further on in life.

“She wants to take her gymnastic career as far as she possibly can, then hopes to become a coach so she can share her talents and become a mentor for young gymnasts in Scotland.”
