Calderhead High School parent council have their next meeting on Thursday, October 11, at 6pm. If you are a parent or guardian of a pupil, you can come along and observe one of their meetings. EU Congregational Church the church is open for prayer and reflection from 11am on Wednesdays, with a short service held at 11.30am until noon. There is soup, tea and chat available in the hall from noon to 1pm. A managers meeting will take place in the church tonight. The Sunday morning worship is a harvest thanksgiving service at 11.30am, and the evening meeting is at 6.30pm. Singing group meets at the church on Tuesday nights at 7pm. Salvation Army Corps the Youth Connection group meets tonight, from 6pm to 8pm. On Thursdays, the toddlers’ group is held at 9.30am, and the prayer meeting gathers that evening at 7pm. Friday Club is held at 5.45pm, followed by the Jam Club at 6.45pm. The Sunday morning meeting is at 10.45am. On Tuesday, the friendship club meets from 1pm to 3pm. A charity show in aid of the Fortissat Dementia support group will be held in the club on Saturday, October 13. The Legends Show will be presented on November 3, with JJ Wilson. The club are also taking names for the Hogmanay party. The club are taking new bookings, so do get in touch if you would like to hold an event there. The function hall is available to hire for events and weddings. Lodge St John 471 have their next regular meeting on Friday, at 7.30pm, in the Orange hall. The business of the evening will be an FC degree conferred by the RWM and office bearers. Community council meets on the first Monday of the month in the community centre in Kirk Road at 7.30pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend these meetings. It offers art classes for all ages. Mondays from 6pm to 7.30pm is for eight to 11-year-olds, Tuesdays from 10.30am to 12 noon is for adults, with a class for four to seven-year-olds at 6pm to 7.30pm.
