Calder­head High School par­ent coun­cil have their next meet­ing on Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 11, at 6pm. If you are a par­ent or guardian of a pupil, you can come along and ob­serve one of their meet­ings. The par­ent coun­cil also have a Twit­ter ac­count “@Calder­headpc” and the min­utes of meet­ings can be found on the school’s web­site. Look out for de­tails of the forth­com­ing quiz night. Teams of up to four peo­ple can en­ter for only £10. De­tails are to be con­firmed and will be an­nounced in this col­umn and on Twit­ter. EU Con­gre­ga­tional Church the church is open for prayer and re­flec­tion from 11am on Wed­nes­days, with a short ser­vice held at 11.30am un­til noon. There is soup, tea and chat avail­able in the hall from noon to 1pm. A man­agers meet­ing will take place in the church tonight. The Sun­day morn­ing wor­ship is a har­vest thanks­giv­ing ser­vice at 11.30am, and the evening meet­ing is at 6.30pm. Singing group meets at the church on Tues­day nights at 7pm. Sal­va­tion Army Corps the Youth Con­nec­tion group meets tonight, from 6pm to 8pm. On Thurs­days, the tod­dlers’ group is held at 9.30am, and the prayer meet­ing gath­ers that evening at 7pm. Fri­day Club is held at 5.45pm, fol­lowed by the Jam Club at 6.45pm. The Sun­day morn­ing meet­ing is at 10.45am. On Tues­day, the friend­ship club meets from 1pm to 3pm. Bon Ac­cord Club En­ter­tain­ment this week in­cludes bingo on Wed­nes­days and Fri­days at 8pm, and on Satur­days at 10pm. A char­ity show in aid of the For­tis­sat De­men­tia sup­port group will be held in the club on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 13. The Le­gends Show will be pre­sented on Novem­ber 3, with JJ Wil­son. The club are also tak­ing names for the Hog­manay party. The club are tak­ing new book­ings, so do get in touch if you would like to hold an event there. The func­tion hall is avail­able to hire for events and wed­dings. On Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 27, John­ston Memo­rial LOL 91 will have their an­nual buf­fet dance with danc­ing to Per­fect Union. Lodge St John 471 have their next reg­u­lar meet­ing on Fri­day, at 7.30pm, in the Orange hall. The busi­ness of the evening will be an FC de­gree con­ferred by the RWM and of­fice bear­ers. Com­mu­nity coun­cil meets on the first Mon­day of the month in the com­mu­nity cen­tre in Kirk Road at 7.30pm. Mem­bers of the pub­lic are wel­come to at­tend these meet­ings. It of­fers art classes for all ages. Mon­days from 6pm to 7.30pm is for eight to 11-year-olds, Tues­days from 10.30am to 12 noon is for adults, with a class for four to seven-year-olds at 6pm to 7.30pm. On Wed­nes­days from 6pm to 7.30pm, there is a class for ages 12 and up­wards. Ad­di­tional classes can be sched­uled based on de­mand.
