Nightmare cut for Dreams

Wishaw Press - - CHARITY NIGHT -

A Wishaw lollipop lady put a stop to shampoo after shaving her head for a kids charity.

Lynda Kellie held a charity night at Wishaw Bowling Club to raise money for the Les Hoey Dreammaker Foundation.

And as well as braving the head shave, she made a hair-raising £2000 for the charity.

Lynda, who covers Wishaw Academy and St Ignatius Primary and is also a playground assistant at Cleland Primary, said: “It was an absolutely amazing night. I’ve just about recovered from having all my hair shaved off!

“My sister Irene also shaved her head on the night and there was lots of other entertainment. Everyone who came had an absolute blast.

“I also had a fantastic result of raising over my target of £2000 and it is thanks to the local businesses in Wishaw and all over Lanarkshire for donating fantastic prizes for the raffles and tombola.

“Also a big thank you to everyone who attended, old and young, who bought raffle tickets and donated gifts and enjoyed the night.”

Lynda also thanked fiance Wullie and her son Ben for all their support and help over the last three months to make the night such a success.

Chapmans Butchers, Newmains DJ Gordon Foster and the Commercial Hotel also helped on the night.
