Predominately Chardonnay with some Pinot Noir from a small biodynamic estate, this bone-dry sparkler has fresh, intense ripe apple and floral aromas. The palate is creamy, with grilled almond characters and a notable persistence on the finish.
errazuriz, Wild Ferment Chardonnay, Casablanca Valley, Chile 2015, 13%, £12.99, Majestic Consistently delicious, this is a fine Chardonnay that has spent some time on its lees to give it extra dimension and complexity. The result is richly textured, with intense buttery characters, and ripe apple and citrus fruit. An opulent palate is infused with seductive notes of subtle oak.

Bâtonnage (lees stirring) during the ageing adds texture and creaminess to the dry mouthfeel. A dry style with a very long finish.

This Barbera always delivers and won’t disappoint. It’s juicy and light in body, with black cherry characters. Tannins are soft and backed up by a high acidity that keeps your taste buds fresh and alive.
Château unang, Ventoux, France 2014, 14%, £13, oddbins Part of the Rhône Valley but bordering Provence, the vineyards lie on the slope of the Mont Ventoux, ranked as “UNESCO Biosphere”. From a traditional Rhône blend, this is packed with black fruit and spice. The palate is smooth and juicy, with more black fruit characters and thyme. This is crying out for a leg of lamb.
