HOME COUNTIES IDYLL
rebecca patterson, 44, is founder of changing bags and travel accessory brand Zellie (zellie.co.uk). She lives near woburn, Bedfordshire, with her husband Jules and son, Henry, 14. My HoMe i live in a cottage built in 1910 by the Earl of bedford for his tenants. it’s on top of a really steep hill, so it’s a bit like the Peppa Pig house! We’ve extended it, so half is traditional and the other part has a light, scandi feel. i have two horses, and the house has stables and sits on the bridleway, so it’s perfect.
My work i love big bags but wanted a bag with compartments to make me more organised. i realised that would also work as a changing bag for parents, so i launched Zellie in 2017. My fAvourite plACe Nearby is a tiny copse of trees with a stream in the middle of a field. i’ll often walk there and take conference calls sitting on a log surrounded by bluebells.
BeSt tHing ABout living Here it feels like we’re in the middle of nowhere but it’s just a 40-minute train ride from here to london, where Jules works. tHe downSide there’s no village pub so we have to get in the car to reach the nearest one.
How i treAt MySelf i’ll sometimes book into a hotel overnight and read magazines, paint my nails and go through my diary – the things i never have time for in everyday life! >>
