Black Vel­vet

This strik­ing black cock­tail is both sparkling and rich – it’s made by mix­ing equal parts of stout and cham­pagne. There are now a vast va­ri­ety of ar­ti­sanal stouts avail­able, we love the Pen­tonville oys­ter Stout from ham­mer­ton brew­ery, but if stout isn’t your thing and you fancy some­thing sweeter, you could use a lovely cider in­stead.

Makes 12 glasses 75cl bot­tle of cham­pagne 2 x 330ml bot­tles of stout Half fill each glass with Cham­pagne, and top with the stout.
