Nom­i­nated by... Tr­ish Kennedy and Pa­tri­cia Noon After Veron­ica lost two close friends to breast can­cer sev­eral years ago, she set up Ladies Fight­ing Breast Can­cer in 2000. she has since raised over £1 mil­lion for equip­ment at her lo­cal hospi­tal, in­clud­ing two mam­mo­gram units.

Which woman has in­spired you in

your life? My mother, who made sure the door to her home was al­ways open. What’s your mantra? to help other peo­ple in any way you can, no mat­ter how big or small.

What couldn’t you live with­out? My chil­dren who are aged 24, 28 and 30. I’m so proud of them all.

What ad­vice would you give to your younger self? al­ways be­lieve in your­self. What achieve­ments are you most proud of? the choir that I set up for breast can­cer suf­fer­ers. It’s won­der­ful see­ing them come to­gether to sing for two hours. How do you feel about win­ning this award? sur­prised! and so pleased that it will raise aware­ness of ladies Fight­ing breast Can­cer.
