EYELID HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN!

-

QFor the past week my left eyelid has started twitching. It tends to happen at night or after watching a screen for a while. What is going on?

Philippa says

AThe medical term for involuntary twitching or spasm of the eyelid is blepharospasm. To have it intermittently is quite common and can be related to being tired, or because of dry eyes or light sensitivity. It can also be related to an infection such as conjunctivitis. More rarely it is associated with neurological conditions or is so severe it stops you opening the eye. If it doesn’t go away or worsens, please speak to your GP.
