Janet Street-porter has revealed she’s got skin cancer on her nose. The Loose Women panellist, 73, told viewers, ‘I showed this tiny spot on my nose to a dermatologist and he immediately referred me to a consultant… I’ve got a basal cell carcinoma, which is a form of skin cancer. It has to be removed, otherwise it’s going to get bigger and bigger.’
The outspoken TV star admitted she’s spent most of lockdown feeling anxious about the upcoming surgery. ‘I was about to have it removed, then lockdown happened… I’ve spent the whole of lockdown getting more and more anxious.’
Janet was keen to raise awareness of the importance of getting even the smallest blemishes checked. She said, ‘This kind of cancer grows under the skin.’
