A brilliant website called A Place For Mom trawled interviews with 100 people over 100 for their tips on longevity. These folk were born in a time before electric light, telly, phones and cars were the norm and survived two world wars. Their reasons for being such punchy pensioners varied from whisky in a morning cuppa, chocolate, ciggies and avoiding marriage and kids. Tellingly, only 25% of them said they owed their longevity to being healthy, while 29% credited it to being happy. Smile, folks!
