You Drink Water…

But Get Your Quota All In One Go

Woman's Weekly (UK) - - Health -

We need about 2ltr of fluid a day, either from water and other healthy drinks, or foods with a high water content like melon, yogurts and soups. But if you get to the end of the day realising you haven’t drunk enough and so gulp down a few glasses in one go, your body won’t get the benefits it would have if you’d been drinking regularly through the day. Personal trainer Faya Nilsson (fitnessontoast.com) says, ‘Drinking 200ml within an hour is broadly considered to be the most water our bodies can absorb. Chugging an entire bottle will pass straight through you and put your kidneys under unnecessary stress.’ Buy a 1.5ltr bottle and mark it in 200ml increments, labelling each line with the ‘hour’ of the day (9am, 10am and so on). Then drink 200ml every hour to keep your body’s water balance.
