Keep the birds fed this winter
I’m lucky enough to live near Greenwich Park, a patch of peaceful green amongst the London hubbub. Whenever I cycle through on my daily commute, I’m always struck by the chirruping chorus coming from the leafy canopy of trees. The park boasts a flock of parakeets, recognisable by their citrus-green plumage. Catching the colourful birds in mid-flight is a cheerful sight to behold as the days turn cold and dark. Sadly, the UK has seen a dramatic drop in its birdlife over recent years. But if you turn to page 16, the RSPB has some great advice for keeping our feathered friends well fed this winter. Time to stock up on sunflower seeds!
