Cute felt decorations

Cutting out

Following the photocopied templates, cut one of each hair piece from brown felt, cut one face from the skin-tone felt, cut two dresses from white felt, cut a pair of wings on the fold of the white felt and four sleeves from folded white felt. Cut four hands and two pairs of feet from the skin-tone felt.

To make up

1 Using small running stitches, sew the face to the front hair piece, overlapping the hair over the face. Following the template, create two French knots for the eyes using three strands of black thread, and backstitch a mouth using two strands of the red. 2 Cut and stitch two lengths of lace to the top and bottom of the front dress. Sew the wings to the back dress down the middle of the fold line in matching white thread.

3 Pair up the feet and hands and blanket stitch all the way around the curved edges. Leave the tops open and fill with stuffing before stitching closed. 4 Repeat for the sleeves, leaving the cuffs open to stuff and finally fill with the stitched hands. Use a small stitch to keep the hands securely in place.

5 Using small tacking stitches, sew the arms and the feet to the front dress. Overlap the face with front dress, and running stitch the pieces together to form the completed front piece.

6 Overlap the back hair piece with the back dress, and running stitch the pieces together to create the full back piece. Pin the front and back pieces together and blanket stitch all the way around in matching thread, leaving the bottom of the dress open for stuffing. Stitch closed once stuffed.
