According to a new study published in the JAMA Psychiatry journal, researchers have found that practising mindfulness can help people suffering from depression just as much as commonly prescribed anti-depressant drugs. In fact, they found that depression sufferers who received mindfulness-based cognitive therapy were 31 per cent less likely to relapse over the next 60 weeks, suggesting that it could offer a longterm approach to dealing with depression.
