Ac­cord­ing to a new study pub­lished in the JAMA Psy­chi­a­try jour­nal, re­searchers have found that prac­tis­ing mind­ful­ness can help peo­ple suf­fer­ing from de­pres­sion just as much as com­monly pre­scribed anti-de­pres­sant drugs. In fact, they found that de­pres­sion suf­fer­ers who re­ceived mind­ful­ness-based cog­ni­tive ther­apy were 31 per cent less likely to re­lapse over the next 60 weeks, sug­gest­ing that it could of­fer a longterm ap­proach to deal­ing with de­pres­sion.
