We all know warmups are a chore – if you’re anything like us, you’re probably super keen to get right into the thick of the workout when you hit the gym. But as well as being important in preventing injuries, it’s becoming more and more evident that a sufficient warm-up will also boost results by getting your body properly primed for the gruelling session ahead. That’s why we love this move, which raises your heart rate safely and gets your core ready to work hard.

‘This slightly unorthodox exercise is a great test of dynamic core stability and one that is a great tool to get you in tune with your body, waking up your central nervous system in the process,’ adds strength and conditioning coach Dan Lawrence. So, if you’re serious about your training, add this move to your arsenal.
