Suck­ers are some of the most use­ful ap­pendages to have, and here’s why

Just like their cousins the oc­to­pus and squid, cut­tle­fish arms and ten­ta­cles are cov­ered in suck­ers. These work by us­ing wa­ter pres­sure con­trolled by strong mus­cles in the arms, and they help the cut­tles to grasp onto prey. Suck­ers line the en­tire length of the cut­tle­fish’s eight arms but are present on just the tips of their two feed­ing ten­ta­cles.
