The eastern screech owl is more likely to be heard than seen

World of Animals - - Masters Of Masquerade -

This mottled owl lives in woodland along the eastern edge of North America. It hunts at night and rests in tree cavities during daylight hours, using its effective camouflage to avoid detection. Its call is not a true screech, likened instead to the whinny of a miniature horse.
