HITMAN LOCATION LOOKOUT
What we want from the future of Hitman
It’s the cliché request from any
Hitman aficionado – a bigger and better sandbox to have Agent 47 sneak his way through. IO struck a great balance with Hitman season one, but does its new independence mean the world of Hitman will soon have even more to offer?
Hitman had a plethora of large maps, including the Paris mission which dwarfed the Streets of Hope map from Hitman: Absolution by a ratio of 6:1, giving Agent 47 plenty of new opportunities and space to work in. That said, a mix of smaller maps such as the Hokkaido mission in episode six showed that compact arenas that are well-balanced, with carefully timed opportunities and cleverly crafted sections, can feel just as giant.
With more potential creative freedom, can IO go one step further for series two? Why not have the option to link multiple locations and targets, with your actions in one place affecting another? Maybe it could go for more outlandish and creative environments, having Agent 47 targeting someone at a games convention, cosplaying as himself for the ultimate deceit.
We need to get out more.
