Halo 4

Format Xbox 360 | Release 2012 Microsoft threw a lot of cash at 343 Industries to pick up the Elite-eviscerating mantle from Bungie. Seeing as it was the most expensive Xbox exclusive ever upon release, it shouldn’t come as a shocker that Halo 4 is rather purdy. In fact, it looked better than every Xbox One launch title. Using a heavily modified version of Halo Reach’s engine, it utilises lightmaps to fill the game’s sci-fi environments with seductive visual effects. The result is a superbly-lit shooter that’s downright filmic; something the campaign’s brilliant facial motion capture also helps with. John 117’s 360 swan song was a galactic leap forward.
