Travelling with kit? Buy another bag

Yachting Monthly - - LETTERS -

I was particularly interested in a recent letter regarding taking kit to Croatia, having met most of the problems Mr. Lewis has encountered while taking stuff to our catamaran berthed in Dalmatia. We had a CO lifejacket removed from our bags by Easyjet even though we had an email from them stating it was permissible.

Now we don’t even try to take contentious items. CO refills, WD-40 and most other hazardous items you require are easily available in Croatia at reasonable prices. We still take stuff. In May we took a portable twin tub washing machine, large inverter and a pile of items to wire it up, all for one extra hold bag costing £19. No fuss and surprisingly easy given we have a taxi/ferry/taxi journey to get to our island berth from the airport.
