‘Your insurance policy will cover you, your boat, and the person borrowing your boat, if you decide to lend it to a friend or family member. As long as they have your permission, you don’t need anything in writing. You do need to be confident that they have an appropriate level of experience to sail your vessel. It would be more complicated if you were being paid to lend your boat, but as long as no money has changed hands, your policy will give them exactly the same cover that it does for you.’
