Chartered surveyor and farmer John, 49, has cruised extensively across the Mediterranean, Baltic and Northern Europe. His first boat was a Hurley 22 followed by a Trapper 700. Over the last 10 years he has restored and sailed many others. John lives in North Lancashire where he runs a small surveying practice as well as a highly diversified farm with his wife Sylvia. James Watt Docks will remain the new home for Space Race from which he intends to cruise both the Clyde and Scottish West Coast.
